My Favorite Forms

 

I love art of all kinds. Obviously…else I wouldn’t have this blog eh? Well among my favorite mediums of art is music. I love it. I love all sorts of music. Very few brands rub my fur backwards. Pop, Folk, Native American, Salsa…You name it, its likely I like at least some of the mainstream and often I’ll have a deep joy in the unusual about that kind of music you’ve named.

Recently, I’ve been in an NPR mode. Been scarfing up old concerts from the website. Guess that I’m a little bored with my music files of late and wanted something new though I can’t afford to add to my collection just now. Anyhoo, I am soaking some Tom Waits…If you like Blues, and you’ve not discovered Tom’s music as yet, you’ll love it. Trust me.

And since I was dying for something visually new here on my blog, you might enjoy surfing to Gagnon Studio and check out some of the new art work Tim’s shared on his blog. Its notthe first time I’ve shared his art here and likely not the last. There’s a restful quality about his work that I really enjoy. I keep a watch on his blog and am enjoying seeing him develop his blog as well as his artistic offerings to his audience.

Chris Achilleos

I love fantasy and science fiction writing. Its what I read for pleasure. I’ve seen Chris’s work on many a cover…If you’ve followed this blog awhile, you’ll know that I’ve a penchant for shamanic feeling art work. His has a flavor that I enjoy. The fishgirl image above is one of those. I hope that you’ll surf over and support his site and see what else he’s got to share.

Emma Hack

A friend of mine put me on to Emma Hack via this site. You will be amazed when you scroll down through here. The thing to know as you view? There’s a live human body hidden in the paint. These first images are from a series called petals.

Fameni

Recently I published a poem called One’s Kiss and I illustrated it with an image by Fameni. I really like this work. I happened across it on a blog somewhere and dropped a link into my book marks. I don’t know who’s blog it was now, but I am very glad to have discovered this work. Its hedonistic, naughty and full of wonderful color. Here’a few of my favorites which can be found at this site:
