Stephanie Pui-Mun Law is an interesting artist. She does what I call shamanic art. Its soft and dreamy. I enjoy that aspect of art. I frequently use my art as a focus for meditation, so I enjoy art that lends itself to this in particular.

Here is one I particularly like:

Here is the caption that attends this image called Spine of the Dragonmount:

They slumber beneath the lands, beneath the rolling hills of the highlands, the burnt sands of the deserts, and the coiled mountain peaks. They’ve slept for ages. Between one blink of their eye and the next, Empires have risen and fallen, and when they shudder in the depths of a dream, the towers and cities that have sprung up along their spines quiver with the fantastic fragility of the short-lived ones.

A dragon curled
Alone, sitting in the sea
Covered by the dust of ages
Awaiting its turn

Neck stretching towards the sky
Jaw slack to realease the anger
That will erupt into
A fit of fiery power

Underneath breezy greenery
That beckons to few passerbys
Only blackened hide of rock
Gives proof to the fury within

Perched alone
Yet surrounded
Awaiting the time
To prove to the world

I am
–poem by Sfeir

The Flamenco Dancer

Prince of Light…the archangel Uriel, guardian to the gates of the Garden of Eden

Chaos Theory

The Embrace…The Paladin

Portal

A Pen and Ink called Trinuviel

This last one reminds me of a shamanic teaching story I once wrote called Blessing Way.

Martina Hoffman

I have such a long list of artists to explore it feels like a heavenly abundance. I adore this blog…I think in some ways, I enjoy it far more than I do any other blog I have. Its just fun to me to write poetry and to view art and then share it here. I could care less that this blog rarely sees more than 40 hits a day and that usually its only about 10. I love art and poetry and I’m thrilled to share what i see that’s compelling through word and form.

Martina Hoffman is an interesting discovery. Some of her stuff is something I would truly enjoy on my wall because I’d never get tired of it…but other stuff is so stimulating to me visually and emotionally, that I could only visit it. This first piece is one such. Its called MotherAngel

This one would be too stimulating too. Its called Snake Goddess and I really like it….but it makes me want to trance with it. That would drive me nuts. *smiles* In a good way.

Another one I’d just like to visit. Its called Guardian of the Veil.

This one is way too stimulating too…but my husband would have to have it and so I’d still be looking at it. Its called Conception. I love it.

Called Fireball, it reminds me of how my desire feels and how my consciousness feels at being faced with it…like a pool of water about to evaporate. I need to live with this one. It would center me I think…

Inward….and I think it needs no words from me…

Mother Earth….Just can’t even tell you what i think about this one. It effects me at the level I have no words. Very primal this one.

A wonderful scuplture called Reclining

Thoreau

It is pleasant to have been to a place the way a river went. – Thoreau …

Thus my inspiration for the following poem…

Thoreau surges

Torrid gushing desire drips from me

Turgid phallus delighted fountaining for me

Together..? Ah… its more than pleasant to have been taken and carried along

The torrent of you in me rushing along the way a river went…
